Tiegan Holtham is a Clinical Psychology Registrar and full member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS), Australian New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED) and the National Eating Disorder Collaboration (NEDC). She completed her training at Charles Darwin University and Griffith University, on the Gold Coast.

Tiegan has supported clients in a variety of settings, including private clinics, schools, community outreach programs, drug and alcohol rehabilitation services, and the Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS). She follows a strength-based, positive approach to therapy, focusing on individual client needs and goals.

Tiegan’s therapeutic style is based strongly in attachment and family systems frameworks, and she supports clients to achieve positive outcomes through evidence-based modalities such as Mindfulness, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).

In the past, Tiegan has worked specifically within suicide prevention, leading a team in Darwin working with men and young people in the building and construction industry, to assist them with difficulties such as anger management, relationship issues, substance misuse, financial stress, depression, anxiety, stress and suicidal ideation. In that role she worked as an accredited SafeTALK trainer and was a founding executive member of the Top End Suicide Prevention Network (TESPN).

More recently Tiegan has worked within a drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre, and continues to work with young people and their families through CYMHS.

Support for People with Eating Disorders

Tiegan has a passion for providing support for people with eating disorders, and is experienced in providing effective evidence-based treatments which target these disorders, such as Maudsley Family Based Treatment (MFBT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy – Enhanced (CBT-E). She is published in this area and has spoken at international conferences about new and novel approaches to eating disorder treatment.

Tiegan enjoys working with children, adolescents, adults and families and can help in the following areas:
